About International Women’s Day
International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.
The campaign theme for International Women's Day 2024 is Inspire Inclusion.

How we are supporting IWD in 2024
On this International Women’s Day, the Community Strengthening Team will be hosting events across all campuses to honour and support pregnant women in remote regions of the developing world.
Supporting Birthing Kit Foundation (Australia) (https://youtu.be/umr1mcgLLK8), we will come together to assemble birthing kits. These kits are distributed to mothers through community outreach programs, provided to health facilities for use by doctors, midwives, and nurses, or given to traditional birthing attendants.
The event is open to all staff and students. Your participation in this event will positively impact the lives of mothers and babies and improve the outcomes for expectant mothers in developing countries. The Birthing Kits are an internationally accepted intervention to support a clean birth, working to reduce infections at key high-risk moments of care during all stages of birth for both mother and baby. Each kit takes approximately 7 minutes to assemble. Each campus has been set at goal to assemble 100 kits!
