Morning Session – Compulsory for International Student Visa Holders

All new international students on a student visa must attend this session. Attendance will be recorded. If you can’t make it, you’ll need to attend a Late Arrival Orientation later to receive the same information.

10:00am – International Student Orientation Meet the International Student Advisers and get essential information about your visa, your studies, and life in Tasmania. This session covers everything you need to settle in and meet your visa requirements.

From 11:30am – University Welcome:  We welcome both international and Australian students who are new to Launceston to join our Welcome to Launceston Day - your dedicated welcome to life at UTAS and in your new city.

What to expect:

11:30am – Welcome Session: Your official welcome to the University of Tasmania, plus practical tips to help you settle in and succeed at university.

12:00pm – Lunch: Enjoy a free lunch and connect with your year group. 

1:00pm – Tour: Discover your new city and connect with fellow students on a guided tour of Launceston We’re excited to welcome you and help you feel confident and connected as you begin your studies.
