National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
Come along to share food and conversations in recognition of history, culture and achievements today on campus. We are inviting people to write their reconciliation wishes on a ribbon to tie on a tree, on campus. I shall be available all day, to distribute ribbons, which will decorate a local, native gumtree on campus.
The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) is observed on the 17th May and aims to coordinate international events that raise awareness of LGBT rights violations and stimulate interest in LGBT rights work worldwide. This year UTAS Rozelle Campus shall be spreading the love with rainbow artwork on campus pathways and the main staircase.
International Nurses’ Day (IND) 2024 is recognising and celebrating and Our Nurses. Our Future. The economic power of care, which creates healthy people and societies and drives healthy economies. At UTAS Rozelle this year, we are hosting a free yoga stretch session and lunch, for all nursing students (and staff) in promoting a healthy lifestyle and well-being program.
The theme for National Volunteer Week 2024 is 'Something for Everyone'. National Volunteer Week 2024 will recognise the diverse passions and talents everyone brings to the act of volunteering. This year UTAS Rozelle will be celebrating Volunteer Week with a Morning Tea with our neighbours at Uniting Aged Care, next door. Students and staff shall share stories of uni life and students will be rewarded with a Certificate of Merit.
