The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice

Wednesday 2 August

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice: A Dialogue for Students is a special event that will connect students from across Australia for an in-depth dialogue on the upcoming Voice Referendum.

The University of Tasmania has partnered with the Australian National University and other Australian universities for the event, which will cover diverse perspectives regarding the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice Referendum.

The event features a special panel, moderated by Professor Mark Kenny. It will cover key issues and points of contention relating to the Voice and will respond directly to questions from students. Our special panel includes:

  • Senator Jana Stewart, Labor Senator for Victoria
  • Senator Andrew Bragg, Liberal Senator for NSW
  • Dean Parkin - Director, From the Heart
  • Sally Scales - Partnership Manager, Uluru Statement from the Heart
  • Further speakers to be confirmed.

The livestreamed panel discussion will be on Ngambri and Ngunnawal land at the ANU in Canberra and is proudly presented by the ANU First Nations Portfolio. Thousands of students from campuses all over Australia are invited to watch the livestream and join the conversation on social media - #VoiceToParliament.

Our doors open 2 August at 4:30pm and attendees are asked to be seated for the livestream by 4:50pm.
