Morning Session – Compulsory for International Student Visa Holders

This session is compulsory for all new international students on a student visa. You’ll meet the International Student Advisers and receive important information about your visa, your studies, and life in Tasmania. This session covers essential details to help you settle in and meet your visa requirements.

Attendance will be recorded. If you’re unable to attend, you’ll be required to attend a Late Arrival Orientation at a later date to receive the same information.

From 11:00am – New to Town Welcome

At 11:00am, we welcome both international and Australian students who are new to Hobart to join our New to Town Day — your dedicated welcome to life at UTAS and in your new city.

What to expect:

11:00am – Welcome Session: Your official welcome to the University of Tasmania, plus practical tips to help you settle in and succeed at university.

12:00pm – Lunch & Student Support Expo: Enjoy a free lunch and explore the range of services and programs available to support you.

1:00pm – Tour: Discover your new city and connect with fellow students on a guided tour of Hobart.
