Morning Session – Compulsory for International Student Visa Holders

The morning session is compulsory for all new international students on a student visa. You’ll meet the International Student Advisers and receive key information about your visa, your studies, and life in Tasmania. This session provides essential details to support your success and ensure you meet visa requirements.

Attendance will be recorded. If you’re unable to attend, you’ll need to join a Late Arrival Orientation at a later date to receive the same information.

From 11:00am – New to Town Welcome

From 11:00am, we bring together both international and Australian students new to Launceston for our New to Town Day — your dedicated welcome to life at UTAS and in your new city.

What to expect:

11:00am – Welcome Session: Your official welcome to the University of Tasmania, plus practical tips and insights to help you settle in and succeed.

12:00pm – Lunch & Student Support Expo: Enjoy a free lunch and explore the services and programs here to support you.

1:00pm – Guided Tour: Discover your new city and connect with fellow students on a guided tour of Launceston.
