Vice-Chancellor's Rowing Challenge
The Vice-Chancellor’s Rowing Challenge will again be held on kanamaluka/Tamar River, with Northern and Southern University-based teams and local school teams competing across a 4.7km long distance course finishing near Seaport bridge. For the first time, this year mainland University crews are also invited to compete for the championship.
Everyone in the community of all ages are welcome to cheer on teams at the finish, in line with the Seaport footbridge at Riverbend Park. Bus transport is available from Newnham and Inveresk campuses.
An ACTIVITY ZONE and CHILL ZONE will be set up at Riverbend Park (on the grass area close to the Seaport footbridge) for food and entertainment for the community:
- Loose Goose Food and drinks van
- Ergo rowing machine 500m time trial challenge open to all ages and abilities
- Giant Jenga and Connect Four, Mini Olympic Games with prizes available
- Live music
- Free face painting
